Ukrainian Grandmaster Alexander Beliavsky became World Junior champion in 1973 and often won the USSR championship. He may be best known as Kasparov's trainer in the early 1990s. His book, Uncompromising Chess contains 70 wonderful games that live up to the book's title, and many insights into the hard work required to sustain grandmaster strength.
